A lot of people have been complaining lately about Simple server for pc not working anymore or requiring reconnection or reopening every 30 minutes or so when using MTN Bis. How To Root My Tecno L5 Smartphone?
1. First download this SuperSU.zip here, save it to your SD Card on your phone
2. Download SP Flash Tool here. (Full tutorial on how to Flash your phone using Sp Flash Tool is here for you).
3. Download the Ported TWRP for Tecno L5 here and Unzip the file and flash the recovery image to the phone using SP flash tool.
4. After you have downloaded all the tools needed, boot your phone into TWRP recovery mode by holding the Vol Up and Power button alone for 5 seconds.
5. As your phone is in TWRP recovery mode,choose “install zip from sdcard” using your volume keys (vol up to scroll up while vol down to scroll down).
6. Choose the “Supersu.zip” file that was saved in the SD card (memory card.)
7. Now scroll to yes and install theSuperSu.zipfile, after a successful flashing, go back and reboot.
8. Now you have just rooted your Android Tecno L5 Smartphone but to be so sure that your Tecno L5 device is fully rooted, use ROOT Checker app to verify your phone status.

nTel is almost here!! The rejuvenated NITEL is already keeping it’s promise of launching next month. In a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, CEO of the new company, Mr Kamar Abass, revealed that the company has made its first Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) call. This happened in Lagos yesterday.
NatCom Development and Investment Limited (full name for nTel), claimed the test VoLTE call was made around 3.30pm at their new Tier III Data Centre located on LagosIsland. The VoLTE calls were enabled over a carrier’s high-speed data network instead of on a (regular) voice network.
”This crystal-clear, high-definition VoLTE call was made via an ntel SIM card and is set to be a significant differentiating factor for ntel, as it progresses with the roll-out of Nigeria’s largest Advanced 4G/LTE network due to be launched shortly.
”The successful test call is a confirmation that the key network elements are now in place to support the full commercial launch of premium integrated voice, video and data services over 4G/LTE.
”ntel network is built on the 900/1800 Mhz which are the most efficient propagation frequencies for the deployment of 4G/LTE technology,” the statement quoted Abass as saying.
ntel is looking to work with Nigeria’s other mobile operators and international partners in order to handle cross-network VoLTE calls. The service is expected to be launched first in Lagos, Abuja and Port-Harcourt soonest.
This clearly sounds like way better service than what we’re used to. Let’s see how this turns out.

A post over at XDA Developers claims that the WhatsApp Group Chat user limit has been bumped up from 100 to 256. The post says that this increased limit is visible on WhatsApp version v2.12.367. reports that some south African mobile operators are calling on the government to regulate Over-The-Top (OTT)content services such as WhatsApp and Skype in the country. Elsewhere,operators have threatened to block WhatsApp and similar services recently. Operators in Nigeria too have groaned about OTT services stealing revenue from their SMS, as well as voice, services.
While the networks complain that OTT services steal revenue from them, that isn’t completely true. OTT services use data, which the networks bill for. The ugly truth is that SMS has been overpriced all the while. SMS runs on excess capacity that a network has, and uses up an infinitesimally small amount of data, yet subscribers are charged heavy rates for it. What WhatsApp, BBM and Skype have done is level the playing ground, tariff wise. That tiny amount of data that a basic text WhatsApp message uses is more like what an SMS uses. The operators have been raking in tons of easy money through SMS.
Sending an SMS costs a mobile network next to nothing, yet subscribers are extorted for it. The operators can groan, complain and wish all they like, but we are certain that subscribers will win this battle. WhatsApp and similar services will not be regulated. Three days ago, Facebook CEO took to his page to announce that WhatsApp has hit 1 billion users. Read below the announcement he made:

WhatsApp’s community has more than doubled since joining Facebook. We’ve added the ability for you to call loved ones far away. We’ve dropped the subscription fee and made WhatsApp completely free. Next, we’re going to work to connect more people around the world and make it easier to communicate with businesses.
There are only a few services that connect more than a billion people. This milestone is an important step towards connecting the entire world.
I thought, “What would be the implication of this?” Surely, having this huge number of users under your care, something has to give, or take, or even both. Looking at it form three wide angles.
What it means to Mark Zuckerberg
To him, 1 billion users probably means more connected users. More people businesses can reach out to, better leverage for placing ads, and even better platform for earning revenue. From his words above:
…we’re going to work to connectmore people around the world and make it easier to communicate with businesses.
This milestone is an important step towards connecting the entire world.
I already sense what this means. Ads and revenue.
What this means to Facebook:
A strong sibling that would be linked to it. Don’t be surprised both apps would be somehow linked together, maybe through Messenger, maybe I’m just guessing.
What this should mean to You:
Yeah right! We have more people now using WhatsApp. I can guess many of us even coerced our parents to join. Have we ever looked at it this way? You can’t have a place where 1 billion people connect, and expect it to be all free without a form of income generation. Read again at the words of Oga Zuckerberg quoted above.
Working to connect more users and making it easier to communicate with businesses, can only mean one thing. Ads. How do businesses easily communicate with users? Even if it is customer service, ads can be infused still.

Backin January 2011, Glo announced that they had launched the first LTE network in Nigeria. It didn’t take too long after the supposed launch for everyone who rejoiced at the news to realise that they had been scammed. Till date, Glo does not have a functional LTE network.
Recent news in the industry is that Globacom recently acquired the 700 MHz spectrum from the Nigerian Communications Commission, giving it the capability to provide the LTE service they claimed to have launched five years ago.
The grapevine says that Glo’s acquisition is the catalyst behind MTN’s move on Visafone to acquire the same 700MHz spectrum so as to give Glo a good run in the broadband turf. If possible, MTN wants to launch LTE services ahead of Glo.
